1. Purpose of this notice

This notice describes the small data files and related browser technologies used by MJC Property Partners Ltd ("MJC", "we", "us" or "our") on providers.mjcpropertypartners.co.uk (the "Portal"). Our Privacy Policy separately explains how we use information that identifies you.

Cookies needed to deliver a service you request may operate without consent. We will ask before placing optional analytics, personalisation or advertising cookies.

2. Meaning of “cookie”

A cookie is a short file that a website asks a browser to store on a computer, phone or tablet. It can help the site recognise a browser, maintain a secure sign-in or remember a choice. References to cookies below also cover comparable tools, including local storage and pixels.

3. The categories we may use

Essential. These support core functions such as authentication, security, form completion and recording your consent choice. Turning them off in your browser may prevent your account or other parts of the Portal from working. They do not require optional consent.

Preference. These remember selections you make, such as a preferred search area, so we can provide a more useful experience.

Measurement. If enabled with your permission, these help us understand overall visits, popular pages and navigation patterns. We aim to use aggregated or de-identified results wherever practical.

Advertising. If introduced, these could be used by advertising partners to understand interests or measure campaigns across websites. We will not activate them unless you agree.

4. What the Portal currently stores

At present, the Portal is designed to use only the essential browser storage needed to keep accounts secure, maintain signed-in sessions and remember the choice made on the cookie notice.

We may later introduce services such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, live chat or a consent-management platform. Before any optional service is activated, this notice and the on-screen controls will be updated, and consent will be obtained where the law requires it.

5. Why we use these technologies

We use them to:

  • provide secure account access and requested Portal functions;
  • retain settings and consent choices;
  • diagnose reliability and security issues;
  • understand and improve the Portal where measurement consent has been given; and
  • support advertising only where advertising consent has been given.

6. Who sets a cookie

A first-party cookie is placed by MJC through the Portal. A third-party cookie is placed by another service used on a page, such as a hosted video or measurement service. Third parties control their own technology and publish their own privacy information.

7. Duration

Some cookies are temporary and end when the browser closes. Others remain until their set expiry date or until you remove them. We will set durations that are proportionate to each purpose and identify material optional-cookie durations in this notice when those tools are introduced.

8. Your controls

Use the cookie notice or the “Cookie settings” control, where available, to accept or reject optional categories. Essential technology cannot be disabled through our controls because it provides functions you request.

Your browser also lets you inspect, erase or block cookies. Instructions differ between Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and other browsers. Blocking essential storage may stop sign-in and account features from operating correctly.

9. Browser tracking signals

Browsers may send a “Do Not Track” signal, but there is no settled standard governing how websites should interpret it. The Portal does not currently respond automatically to that signal. You can still use the choices described above.

10. Revisions

We may amend this notice when our technology, suppliers or legal duties change. The latest version will remain available here and will carry a revised date.
